Miklos Gaál
Sights
September 20 - October 20, 2007
Premier canadian exhibition by internationally respected Finnish photographer.
Press: The Star

Artcore/Fabrice Marcolini is honoured to present the first Canadian exhibition by Finnish artist/photographer Miklos Gaál.
Gaál’s photographs are taken with an analogue camera, never digitally enhanced.
By manually manipulating the film plate in the camera, this artist manages to break free from the conventional use of perspective, making space – framed by his lens – bend strangely between the real and the abstract. The result is an image only partially blurred with a dream-like effect. Gaál’s ability to balance the staged aspect of photography and the artist’s intuition is garnering the Helsinki School international recognition, as he creates atmospheric images into large format prints, widely sought after by both public and private collections.
Artcore/Fabrice Marcolini’s Sights will feature multiple facets of Gaál’s work, including a video projection entitled Transit Loop, as well as eighteen large format photographs. Also on display will be two new photographic sequence series.
